About

I am a freelance medical/science writer and instructional designer with more than 20 years experience. My medical background and extensive experience in medical communication and instructional design give me the expertise to translate complex information into accurate and comprehensive, yet accessible, materials tailored to the needs of my audience. I am proficient at producing quality documents in a timely manner and in meeting tight deadlines without sacrificing quality.

As a freelance I write for professional and consumer audiences in a wide range of specialties, including oncology, infectious diseases, cardiology, immunology, molecular biology, rheumatology, pulmonology, endocrinology, and more. I also have experience in herbal medicine, native plants, marine biology, and nature and outdoor writing.

Prior to my freelance career I was the Cytopathology Laboratory Manager at the University of Utah Medical Center, where I managed a staff of about 25, engaged in cancer and infectious disease diagnosis, conducted original research, instructed medical students and residents, and helped develop a new undergraduate degree program. I hold a Master’s degree in Communication and undergraduate degrees in Biology and Education.
